How to remove the background from an image in Adobe Photoshop
Removing background for images has become an important part of design because it is useful in so many parts, like sewing a 2D logo to be used in 3D. Merging different images together is also for the purpose of changing the background of the image, but in summary, the purpose of removing the background from an image is to isolate the main subject or object in the image and create a transparent or new image background.
It is also useful for further image editing and creative work. There are different software and platforms used to remove background from images, but in this blog post, we will talk about how to use Adobe Photoshop to remove background from images.
1) Open your Adobe Photoshop software, load the image in the PS software, file> open> locate the image, and click on Open.
2) Unlock the layer: Click on the lock button on the right side (the layer panel) to unlock the background layer.
3) for an image with one color background: Go to the tools bar on your left, locate the magic wand tool, select it, and then go to the image to select the background. Click the photo background to select it, and then delete the selected background.
4) Aside from using the magic wand tool, for images with complex backgrounds, use the quick selection. You can locate the select section of the menu bar at the top and click on Select Subject to Select the main content from the background. Use Ctrl + J or Cmd + J to create a new layer from the selected content and delete the previous layer
5) Save your image as a.png file to maintain the transparency of the background. NB: Step 4 can also work for an image with a single-color background.
